A DOUBLE PANDEMIC

We are facing a double pandemic. We cannot help but hear about the COVID-19 pandemic every single day. We are reminded every time we put on a mask. But we don’t talk about how to help the people hardest hit by COVID-19. These people happen to be suffering from another pandemic which has been going on much longer and is killing far more people.

There is a pandemic of preventable chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes. In 2017, these chronic diseases accounted for 73.5% of deaths worldwide. An unbelievable 83.9% of these were preventable and avoidable deaths. Interestingly, the CDC and multiple meta-analyses have noted that these chronic diseases are associated with getting severe COVID symptoms.

So does it matter how we take care of ourselves during these times? A resounding yes! Now is the time to stop thinking about making those health changes and actually do it! Especially if you have a condition that is listed above, we would implore you to work with your healthcare provider in making the positive choices for your health.

At Hydrotherapy Hub, we realize the importance of our health choices when we are sick just as much as when we are well. So take a deep breath and dive right in to your journey to health.
